Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – A helicopter and a drone almost collided at the airfield in Magdeburg. Officials from the police helicopter squadron wanted to take off for a training flight on Tuesday evening, the police said on Wednesday. During the take-off process, they noticed a drone flying three meters above the helicopter. The take-off process was aborted immediately to prevent a collision. “When the helicopter crew exited the helicopter, the drone quickly moved north,” it said. Despite a search in the area, no responsible person could be found. Investigations on suspicion of dangerous intervention in air traffic have been initiated.
