Leipzig (dpa/sa) – This week, the high Jürgen brings high summer temperatures to Saxony-Anhalt. The week starts with up to 31 degrees Celsius on Monday, with a weak wind blowing, said a spokesman for the German Weather Service. On the night of Tuesday it should be partly cloudy, with low temperatures of 10 degrees and weak wind. The highest temperatures are expected on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. According to the spokesman, a heat warning is not unlikely for these days.

According to the DWD, Tuesday will be sunny and dry in Saxony-Anhalt with up to 37 degrees and a light wind. During the night it cools down to 13 degrees. On Wednesday it will be very hot with lots of sunshine and up to 39 degrees. A temporary freshening wind could give people a little refreshment.

According to the forecast, a cold front is approaching from the west on Thursday night, bringing showers, thunderstorms and a cooling down to around 16 degrees. Thursday will be partly cloudy, but with around 30 degrees it will still be warm and mostly dry. In the night to Friday it cools down to 10 degrees, on Friday the temperatures will settle down below 30 degrees, according to the spokesman for the German Weather Service.
