Halle (dpa/sa) – In Saxony-Anhalt, the annual inflation rate has fallen somewhat compared to the previous months. It was 8.7 percent in December, as the State Statistical Office announced on Tuesday. Compared to November, the consumer price index fell by 1.1 percent. Energy sources such as gas, district heating, petrol and diesel had a price-reducing effect.
In November, consumer prices rose by 10.5 percent compared to the same month last year. According to the authorities, the annual inflation rate in Saxony-Anhalt reached a record 10.7 percent in September. In October it was 10.5 percent.
