Muldestausee (dpa/sa) – The level tower on the Great Goitzsche Lake is to be transformed back into a huge candle. A spokeswoman for the Goitzsche association said on Thursday that it would initially be closed to visitors from next Sunday in order to install the lighting. Against the background of the energy crisis, however, the candle will light up somewhat shorter this year from the first weekend in Advent until mid-January between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.
The tower was already decorated with numerous fairy lights that are reflected in the water in the evening during the past Christmas season. A spiral staircase around the tower allows you to climb to the top. The tower is a landmark of the area shaped by opencast mining.
