Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – The University Hospital Magdeburg and the City Hospital Magdeburg want to work more closely together in the future. As the Ministry of Science announced on Monday, a corresponding cooperation agreement has been signed. The aim is coordinated optimal medical care for all patients, taking into account the total resources available at both locations. “Together we are stronger,” said Minister of Science Armin Willingmann (SPD), who is also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the University Hospital Magdeburg.

The cooperation is intended to support the formation of medical focal points. It is about finding viable solutions together for challenges such as competitive pressure, a shortage of skilled workers and cost increases, said Willi Lamp, Managing Director of the Magdeburg Clinic. The aim is to develop a joint care concept with a corresponding medical strategy for Magdeburg and northern Saxony-Anhalt.
