Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – October turns up again towards the end: In Saxony-Anhalt, the temperatures on Saturday almost everywhere reached records for October 29th. This was announced by the German Weather Service (DWD) on Sunday. In Quedlinburg it was the warmest in the entire state with 23.3 degrees, followed by Huy-Pabstorf (Harz district) with 23.2 degrees. So far, the highest temperature measured on October 29th in Saxony-Anhalt was 21.5 degrees: According to DWD records, that was in 1937 in the town of Stiege, which belongs to the town of Oberharz am Brocken.
The highest temperature ever measured on an October day was not exceeded on Saturday in Saxony-Anhalt: Zeitz holds the absolute monthly record with 29 degrees, reported on October 4, 1966. In Bernburg/Saale, too, the meteorologists registered a peak value of 28 at the beginning of October 2011 ,7 degrees.
These high values ??should not be cracked this Sunday either. The German Weather Service predicted temperatures of up to 25 degrees.
