Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – Language like Low German in Saxony-Anhalt creates identity – Minister of Culture Rainer Robra pointed this out on Mother Language Day. “Our languages ??and dialects enable individuality and create community at the same time,” explained Robra (CDU) on Friday in Magdeburg. “The day of the mother tongue makes a contribution to strengthening the sense of home.” On this day (February 21) in Saxony-Anhalt, the focus should be more on Low German, which the state sees as particularly committed to preserving and maintaining. Among other things, Low German is promoted in day-care centers and schools.
