Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – For the metal and electrical industry in Saxony-Anhalt, the second wage round is due on Tuesday (10 a.m.) in Magdeburg. The first wage round in September revealed major differences between the representatives of IG Metall and the Association of the Metal and Electrical Industry Saxony-Anhalt (VME), said a spokesman for the union. The IG Metall wants eight percent more money and anchor this increase in a collective agreement that will run for twelve months if possible. She refuses one-off payments. VME negotiator Frank Aschenbach said that the concerns of the employees in view of the high inflation were shared. “However, the enormous price increases hit the companies with the same force and cannot be compensated for by their own sales prices,” he said after the first unsuccessful round of collective bargaining.
