Wernigerode (dpa/sa) – Hurricane gusts must be expected in the highest elevations of the Harz Mountains on Wednesday. The German Weather Service (DWD) issued a corresponding severe weather warning for locations over 1000 meters on Tuesday. The Brocken, the highest peak in the Harz Mountains, is 1141 meters high. The DWD explained that trees could be uprooted, branches or objects could fall. It is advised to avoid being outdoors as much as possible. The severe weather warning is valid from Wednesday 12:00 a.m. to Thursday 12:00 a.m.
