Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – At the high school in Beetzendorf (Aktmarkkreis Salzwedel), 22 students had to repeat an oral Abitur exam in the subject of social studies. As the state education authority confirmed on Thursday on request, a teacher had given advice on the selection of topics before the exam in June. The exam was repeated on Tuesday and Wednesday. The “Magdeburger Volksstimme” reported about it first.
According to the state education authority, the students themselves had made the incident known. Because the teacher’s misconduct gave them an “unauthorized advantage”, the test had to be repeated, a spokesman said. Now the legal consequences for the teacher would be examined and implemented after the procedure was completed. Some written statements from those involved are still missing.
Students should not suffer any disadvantages when applying for university places. The high school diplomas will be handed out this week. The application deadline at the universities in Saxony-Anhalt for initial matriculation for degree programs with numerus clausus is July 15, according to the state education authority. It is also possible to submit documents at a later date.
