Harbke (dpa/sa) – Several people tried to steal cables and attachments in a solar park in Harbke (Börde district). An employee of the plant park reported a technical failure of several transformers to the police on Friday, the officials said on Sunday. The police officers were then able to see several people walking around the company premises with flashlights. According to the police, a police helicopter localized four people during an overflight.
When the perpetrators noticed the police, they fled. Two men were arrested at the scene. They are currently in custody.
The officials found that several transformer stations were attacked, attachments and cables were dismantled and prepared for transport. The damage amounts to around 500,000 euros, according to a spokesman for the police.
