Naunhof (dpa/sn) – In an accident on Autobahn 14 near Leipzig, six people were injured on Monday night, including two children. For reasons that have not yet been clarified, a driver drove his car into the right lane and touched a truck there, the police said. As a result, the semitrailer left the road on the right, broke through the guardrail and rolled over on the embankment. The car drove into the right guardrail and came to a stop on the hard shoulder.
According to the police, the 58-year-old truck driver and his 55-year-old passenger were taken to a clinic with minor injuries. The 39-year-old motorist, his wife, 40, and their children, aged 6 and 1, were also injured and taken to the hospital. No information was initially available on the degree of injury. The police put the damage caused at around 6,000 euros. The autobahn was closed for more than two hours in the direction of Magdeburg. The police are investigating a road hazard.
