Dresden (dpa / sn) – This year, the Saxon Citizens’ Prize honors, among other things, the rescue of a manor church and years of local political commitment. The prize was awarded in five categories on Thursday in Dresden. It is endowed with 5000 euros each. There is impressive civic engagement everywhere in Saxony, explained Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU). This is invaluable, especially in difficult times like this.
A long-standing member of the Freiberg Children’s and Youth Parliament, a telephone adviser from the Child Protection Association in Zwickau, the renovator of the Kleinliebenau manor church, the Limbach-Oberfrohna animal park development association and a development aid association from the Ore Mountains were honored. In addition, the Meissen association “Partnership with Eastern Europe e.V.” was honored for 30 years of help in Romania and Ukraine. The winners were selected by a jury from 64 nominations.
