Dresden (dpa/sn) – The volleyball players at Dresdner SC have impressively returned to everyday life in the Bundesliga after a three-week break. Despite personnel problems, the team of trainer Alexander Waibl clearly won the Ladies in Black 3:0 (25:13, 25:22, 25:18) in the fast run of 69 minutes. The fourth-placed team took revenge for the smooth 3-0 defeat in the first leg and further extended their lead over Aachen.
In front of 1109 spectators, the guests, who still had to do without regular player Sarah Straube (torn cruciate ligament), found the game very well. They served powerfully and were able to score reliably from a stable reception. Above all, diagonal attacker Lara Berger (22 points), who was later named the most valuable player, repeatedly overcame the opposing block.
From the second round, the Ladies in Black held up much better, and the game developed at eye level. But in the decisive phases, the six-time German champions developed more attacking power and showed themselves to be excellently organized in block and field defense.
