Dresden (dpa / sn) – Volleyball Bundesliga club Dresdner SC signed diagonal attacker Marie Hänle from league competitor NawaRo Straubing immediately before the end of the change period. The six-time German champions announced this on Tuesday. With the second signing within a few days, the fourth in the table is reacting to the long-term absence of Julia Wesser (glandular fever) and Mika Grbavica (torn cruciate ligament).
Hänle comes from Ulm and received her training as a junior at the Stuttgart Olympic base. The 20-year-old has been playing for Bundesliga club Straubing since the 2020/21 season.
“I’ve known Marie for a long time, to be precise, since the 2020 cup game, when she was still playing for Stuttgart in the second team. Since then, she’s given us difficult tasks with Straubing. I think she’s a talented youngster diagonal”, said DSC trainer Alexander Waibl.
At the beginning of the week, Dresdner SC signed Dutch winger Annick Meijers from competitor VC Wiesbaden.
