Borna (dpa/sn) – Eight seriously injured Ukrainian soldiers are to be treated in Borna. In close coordination with the district of Leipzig and the Sana Klinikum, the transport of the men to Borna will be organized in order to be able to treat them and provide them with the necessary therapeutic measures, the city of Borna announced on Thursday. “This terrible war brings new, completely unnecessary victims every day and I see it as our duty to help with everything that is necessary to alleviate the suffering of the people,” said Mayor Simone Luedtke (left).

After the injured soldiers have been treated, there is cooperation with various therapeutic facilities in the region, explained the managing director of the Sana Klinikum, Roland Bantle. “Because the severity of the injuries not only requires quick and uncomplicated acute care, but also numerous other therapeutic measures, such as long-term rehabilitation and the use of prostheses.”
