Pirna (dpa / sn) – The Dresden public prosecutor has accused five young men of a series of explosions in Saxon Switzerland. The 20 to 24-year-old accused are said to have blown up cigarette machines, pumping stations and mailboxes in the summer of 2020 with varying participation, as the prosecution announced on Tuesday.
The greatest damage to property occurred when three of the accused allegedly set fire to a barn in the Sebnitz district of Schönbach with firecrackers. The barn with 400 bales of straw burned down completely, the damage was around 200,000 euros.
In total, the public prosecutor accuses the young men of damaging property in 13 cases and causing an explosive explosion in eight cases. The accused have not commented on the allegations. The district court of Pirna must now decide whether to admit the charges.
