Dresden (dpa/sn) – A new institute building for applied microelectronics research has been ceremonially handed over in Dresden. With the investment of 27 million euros, the conditions for researchers at the Saxon location of the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS have improved, according to a statement on Thursday. Research into the development of pioneering electronic systems and networked automation is given significantly more space. In addition to offices, the new building offers three integrated test halls as well as numerous electronics laboratories and measuring rooms.
