Glauchau (dpa / sn) – Andreas Hänsel has been confirmed as President of the Berufsakademie Sachsen for another five years. The directors’ conference elected Frauke Deckow, director at the Glauchau site, as his deputy, the vocational academy announced on Wednesday. She is currently on her way to the Dual University of Saxony. The process should be completed by January 1, 2025. The aim is to benefit from experiences from Baden-Württemberg and Thuringia. With the legal status of a university degree, one hopes, among other things, for a better reputation and more applicants.
The Berufsakademie Sachsen, with its seven academies in Bautzen, Breitenbrunn, Dresden, Glauchau, Leipzig, Plauen and Riesa, offers a three-year dual course of study in the fields of business, technology and social and health care. There are more than 40 courses in total. The currently 4,370 students are being trained both in the study academies and with partners in practice. The course ends with a bachelor’s degree. According to its own statements, the educational institution has so far released around 31,000 graduates into professional life. Their placement rate is above average at over 90 percent, it said.
