Dresden (dpa/sn) – Saxony universities and study academies want to offer a normal course of study despite the corona pandemic and energy crisis. The Ministry of Science, the State Rectors’ Conference and the Saxony University of Cooperative Education (BA) had agreed on a framework for action, the ministry announced on Tuesday in Dresden. According to this, courses should take place in person, digital courses could be offered for support. In addition, the universities and the BA ensure that hygiene rules and distance requirements are implemented and recommend that university members wear protective masks.
When it comes to energy-saving measures, the universities and the BA want to follow the federal guidelines and lower the room temperature. For social and communication rooms with a cheap energy supply, such as libraries, break rooms and rooms for self-study, it is recommended to maintain a normal temperature.
The previous semesters had demanded a lot from all university members due to the pandemic, but it was still possible to organize high-quality teaching,” said Minister of Science Sebastian Gemkow (CDU). “I am convinced that this will also be the case this winter semester.”
