Dresden (dpa / sn) – Saxony’s Finance Minister Hartmut Vorjohann (CDU) has rejected demands from the City and Municipal Council for higher municipal allocations. The minister announced on Thursday that the concerns and concerns of the municipalities would be taken very seriously. However, the demand by the municipal umbrella organization for a fixed quota of funds is not the right approach.
The minister said that he found it questionable that the Saxon City and Municipal Council was already calling for energy balances, where it was not yet clear how high the loads would be in the end. Vorjohann also rejected the demand for additional financial resources outside of municipal financial equalization.
The city and community day had asked for more money from the state for the municipalities. In the face of inflation, skyrocketing energy prices and other problems, they are facing the most severe test in many years.
