Dresden (dpa / sn) – The software group SAP has opened a campus in downtown Dresden. The new office building complements existing rooms on Postplatz and offers jobs for a further 400 employees, the group announced on Wednesday in Dresden. How many new jobs there should be was still unclear. With the campus, the company wants to network its development capacities more closely.
“We are very pleased that we can continue to grow at Dresden as a location for science and innovation and that we can further strengthen our cooperation with local and regional partners,” said SAP Technical Director Jürgen Müller.
SAP wants to rely on the regional network locally and thus drive innovation forward. “In addition to the excellent university and non-university cutting-edge research and local automotive and technology companies, numerous local initiatives, technology and innovation centers and start-ups characterize the region,” the group said. The cooperation should be expanded.
Saxony’s Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer was pleased that SAP had chosen Dresden in the major international competition. “The history of SAP is a real success story. We have been accompanying it for decades now, and that is a success of a clever science policy that always focuses on excellence and on new topics,” said the CDU politician in advance at one Visit to Brussels. He spoke of a “huge opportunity” to make Dresden more attractive for young people.
