Bautzen (dpa/sn) – Employees in the metal and electrical industry continued their warning strikes in Saxony on Tuesday. At Alstom in Bautzen alone, around 600 people stopped work for one and a half hours in the morning, according to IG Metall. For her, it’s not just about the demand for 8 percent more wages in the current collective bargaining round, but also about the prospects for the company’s Saxon locations.
The union also called for warning strikes in other companies on Tuesday, for example at Vitesco Technologies in Limbach-Oberfrohna and at Koenig
So far, employers have promised, among other things, a tax and duty-free “inflation compensation premium” of EUR 3,000 for a term of 30 months and a later, as yet unspecified increase in the salary scales.
