Dresden (dpa / sn) – In Saxony there will be no further extension of the deadline for submitting the property tax return. The spokesman for the Ministry of Finance, Jörg Herold, said on Tuesday on request. On the other hand, the Bavarian Finance Minister Albert Füracker (CSU) had announced that land and real estate owners in the neighboring Free State should be given three months more time. The fee was limited to January 31st. The end date had already been pushed back once.
Land and real estate owners are obliged to submit a property tax return throughout Germany. In Saxony, too, progress was rather sluggish. As of January 29, around 68 percent of the necessary declarations had been received, according to the ministry. A total of around two million property tax returns would have to be submitted in Saxony.
