Dresden (dpa / sn) – After a major fire on an industrial and event site in Dresden, the police began investigations into the cause of the fire. This will take some time, the police said on Sunday. The amount of damage caused cannot yet be quantified.
The fire broke out on Friday evening. The well-known techno club “Sektor Evolution” was also affected. In addition, rehearsal rooms for several bands, a waste sorting facility, a workshop and offices were also housed on the site.
The fire brigade announced on Sunday that it was mainly the garbage facility that burned. This area is in danger of collapsing and there are still sources of fire there. The “Sector Evolution” club was saved from complete destruction by the flames. The extent of the damage caused by firefighting water cannot yet be said.
