Chemnitz (dpa/sn) – Chemnitz police officers and special forces from the State Criminal Police Office searched three apartments and two garages of suspected drug dealers in Chemnitz. No one was injured, police said on Thursday. During the search in the Gablenz and Sonnenberg districts on Wednesday morning, the 31 and 43-year-old suspects were found. The 43-year-old main suspect was arrested for the time being.

The officers seized 79 grams of crystal, 374 grams of marijuana, 9 grams of hashish, 426 LSD trips, 71 ecstasy pills, 60 grams of cocaine, scales and consumer paraphernalia. They also found around 150,000 euros in cash, a money counting machine, a stun gun, prohibited pyrotechnics and several bicycles and tools that are believed to have come from burglaries in Chemnitz.

The 41-year-old should be brought before an investigating judge on Thursday, who should decide on an arrest warrant. Criminalists had been investigating the men for several weeks. There had been indications that they were suspected of illicit trafficking in large quantities of synthetic drugs. The Chemnitz district court then issued the search warrants.
