Kamenz (dpa/sn) – Significantly fewer bush berries were harvested in Saxony last year. The 43 Saxon companies would have brought in around 417 tons of bush berries in 2022, around 70 percent less than the year before. After the years 2012 and 2020, this is one of the lowest harvests, the State Statistical Office announced on Tuesday in Kamenz. Above all, the dry weather conditions and the high production costs are the reason for the poor harvest. Many berries were therefore not even harvested because they had dried up. The bush berries include the aronia berry, the currant or gooseberry as well as the raspberry or blueberry.
