Dresden (dpa / sn) – The state of Saxony has after the death of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. mourning flags for the office buildings in the government district of Dresden have been ordered for this Thursday. This is in line with an order from the federal government for its office building, the State Chancellery announced on Tuesday in Dresden. The German theologian – whose real name is Joseph Ratzinger – died on New Year’s Eve in Rome at the age of 95. The official funeral services for him will take place on Thursday. Pope Francis wants to hold a big funeral service with tens of thousands of people in front of St. Peter’s Basilica. Benedict will then be buried in the crypt of St. Peter’s Basilica.
