Dresden (dpa / sn) – Saxony wants to attract more foreign skilled workers to the Free State and thus counteract the shortage of workers. Economics Minister Martin Dulig said on Tuesday after the cabinet meeting that this was a question of the existence of the company. To this end, an action plan was launched. According to Dulig, the Saxon labor market will lack a total of 150,000 workers by 2030. By 2035 there will be 210,000. When recruiting, the focus is on countries with a youth surplus. One does not want to exacerbate the labor problem in other countries.

According to Science Minister Sebastian Gemkow, the skills gap in the academic sector is 10 to 18 percent. Saxony currently has around 18,000 students from abroad. Two thirds of the graduates would like to stay in Saxony. But only a quarter actually stay.
