Riesa (dpa / sn) – In the collective bargaining dispute at Pasta Riesa GmbH, the management of the company has proposed moderation to the union. After five unsuccessful rounds of negotiations, the company said on Tuesday that “the union and the collective bargaining committee are not willing to deal with the actual framework conditions of the company”. The negotiations are completely deadlocked. Wednesday or Saturday of this week was mentioned as a possible date for the moderation. In the voluntary procedure, a person recognized by both sides should settle the conflict.
When asked, the Food, Enjoyment and Restaurants Union (NGG) welcomed the initiative. “All talks that bring us forward make sense,” said trade union secretary Olaf Klenke. However, it is also important to take into account the justified demands of employees. The management must finally deal with this.
The NGG is demanding a wage increase of a total of two euros per hour in two steps by the end of 2023. The management, on the other hand, had also offered a total of 1.20 euros in two steps and a one-off payment of 400 euros. Management described the union’s demand as unrealistic. At the same time, she accused her lack of willingness to negotiate. The union, in turn, claimed that many of the 150 employees in Riesa were only paid an hourly rate of 12.51 euros. According to union information, the workforce had been on strike for 666 hours as of Tuesday.
Pasta Riesa GmbH belongs to the entrepreneurial family Freidler from Baden-Württemberg, which also owns the Swabian pasta manufacturer Alb-Gold in Trochtelfingen. In the past, employees from Riesa had also demonstrated in Trochtelfingen for their wage increase.
