Dresden (dpa / sn) – The left in the Saxon state parliament have accused the government of failings in terms of daycare staff. “The coalition has not only set itself the goal of recruiting more specialists for the daycare centers, but also to increase the diversity of this professional group,” MP Marika Tändler-Walenta recalled on Wednesday of a plan by the coalition partners: “In the coalition agreement, the CDU, Greens and SPD promise , to want to get more men and more people with a migration background interested in the profession.” In addition, the proportion of academic specialists should increase and a specialist strategy should be developed.
“The day-care center staff should be as diverse as the children if the upbringing is to be tailored to their needs and the free development of all our youngest is to be guaranteed. In addition, it is particularly important in Saxony that children get to know different perspectives from an early age and thus prevent prejudice “, explained the left-wing politician. At the same time, she complained that the government failed to respond to a small question from her: “Overall, the answer shows that the state government is not doing its homework in the area of ????daycare staff either.”
In its response to the small inquiry, the Ministry of Education stated that the proportion of male professionals in day-care centers has increased from 7.4 percent at the time in 2017 to 9.9 percent in 2021. According to the ministry, it did not have any information on the proportion of educators with foreign roots, as this was not a statistical survey feature.
