Saxony: truck burns on A72: more than 100,000 euros in damage

Reichenbach (dpa / sn) – A truck fire on the Autobahn 72 near Reichenbach (Vogtlandkreis) caused property damage of 102,000 euros. A technical defect probably caused the fire on the 39-year-old driver’s trailer, the police said early Tuesday morning. The man was unharmed. The flames destroyed the entire tractor unit and parts of the trailer on Monday. The truck was loaded with 24 tons of mineral water, which had to be disposed of after the fire.
