Saxony: Two injured in an apartment fire

Dresden (dpa/sn) – Two people were injured in a fire in a residential building in Dresden. The fire broke out in an apartment on the ground floor for reasons that are still unclear, as the fire brigade announced on Monday. 20 residents were able to escape on New Year’s Eve before the fire brigade with a total of 42 firefighters was able to extinguish the fire. The fire apartment and the apartment above are initially uninhabitable. The police have opened an investigation into the cause of fire.
