RARITAN TWP. – Three people, including a 17-year-old teen, faced marijuana possession charges after the snow-covered vehicle they were in was stopped on Junction Road, police said.

Officer Ismael Mendez stopped the vehicle, driven by Christopher D. Tronchin, 30, of North Plainfield, at 11:39 a.m. on Feb. 9 during the area’s only significant snow storm this winter. Tronchin, who had warrants for his arrest out of East Brunswick and Bridgewater, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, police said.

The teen girl from the Flagtown section of Hillsborough, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. She was released to her mother, with the charges being transferred to the juvenile division of the superior court.

Steven A. Snook, 22, of Washington, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic syringes, police said. He was also wanted on a warrant for his arrest out of Newark.

Both Tronchin and Snook were released with a pending court date, police said.

Township police Officer Adam Swiatek also arrested two people, a 22-year-old Clinton woman and a 28-year-old Long Valley man, charging both with various drug offenses, police said.

Alexis R. Buffa, 22, of Clinton, was stopped on Routes 202/31 at 10:53 p.m. on Feb. 6 for failing to keep right. She was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of a marijuana pipe, police said. She was also issued motor-vehicle summonses for failure to keep right and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

Vincent T. Decastro, 28 of Long Valley, a passenger in Buffa’s vehicle, was charged with possession of heroin and crack cocaine, possession of a crack pipe and possession of a hypodermic syringe. Both were released pending a court appearance, police said.

Police Officer Robert Landolina also arrested a 34-year-old Lambertville man on Feb. 15, charging him with possession of a toxic chemical for inhaling and possession of rolling papers following a motor vehicle stop on Routes 202/31 at 10:38 a.m. on Feb. 15, police said.

Ronald R. Tillett, III, was issued motor-vehicle summonses for failure to wear seat belt and driving with a suspended driver’s license. He was released with a court date, police said.
