As reported by the National Police this Friday in a press release, two agents of the Ciudad Real National Police have received separate cuts on the forearm and neck when they attended the medical service of the General University Hospital of Ciudad Real in the reduction of a patient with a psychiatric history who was “extremely aggressive”.
The detainee is a 20-year-old man with a psychiatric history who, brandishing two knives, attacked the agents and the medical personnel who were assisting him.
Given the aggressiveness shown by the assailant, the police officers used their service weapon and the detainee received three bullet wounds to the leg.
After the attack, he barricaded himself in a room where he was finally arrested by the National Police for the crimes of attacking an agent of authority and injuries.
After the arrest, he was transferred to the General University Hospital of Ciudad Real where he remains admitted with a reserved prognosis.
Both the police officers and their attacker are out of danger.
