Two men for the jury of the final season of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” have already been determined: Pietro Lombardi and – of course – Dieter Bohlen. But the pop titan is said to have found female support for the show. Her name is Leony.
No, it’s not Shirin David. Neither did Michelle. And Marianne Rosenberg, of course, not at all. Instead, the first female juror in the 20th and final season of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” (DSDS) should be singer and songwriter Leony. At least that’s what the “Bild” newspaper speculates. There is no official confirmation from RTL, which will broadcast the program from the beginning of 2023 (also available on RTL).
The contract with the 25-year-old, whose civil name is Leonie Burger, is said to have already been signed and sealed. Leony was one of Bohlen’s preferred candidates, the newspaper claims to have found out. After all, the pop titan and the musician already know each other from professional relationships: in 2020 they released a joint cover version of the modern-talking hit “Brother Louie”.
But Leony has also entered into numerous other collaborations. For example, she has already worked with British DJ Alan Walker as well as with rappers Sido and Kontra K and porn popper Katja Krasavice. Leony is also active as a songwriter for other artists. Her biggest hit to date as a solo singer was the song “Remedy”, released in early 2022.
Leony’s music career started a few years ago. At that time she was still with a band called Unknown Passenger. With her she won the RTL show “Rising Star” in 2014.
RTL has already confirmed that Bohlen buddy Pietro Lombardi is returning to the DSDS jury for the anniversary season, which he also belonged to in 2019 and 2020. Does this complete the team as they search for the next Superstar? Not quite, the “Bild” newspaper suspects. There is also a fourth place up for grabs.
This is where Shirin David comes into play. The singing Youtuber was also part of the DSDS jury in 2017. And supposedly Bohlen would like to have her by his side again. A commitment from the 27-year-old is still pending, the “Bild” newspaper wants to know.
