The Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix at the Monza circuit will be a new opportunity for Fernando Alonso.
The Asturian driver, third in the general classification, arrives at the Italian track, known as “the temple of speed”, with confidence in full swing after the last race in his Aston Martin where he was close to victory in Zandvoort.
Alonso, younger and younger on the track at 42, is looking for his seventh podium so far this season. A second rung that he also achieved this year in Monaco and Canada. Without forgetting the challenge of adding his 33rd victory before the end of the year.
On the other hand, Max Verstappen, prominent leader of the World Cup, will seek his tenth consecutive victory of the season at the home of Ferrari, Carlos Sainz’s team.
A legendary circuit that benefits powerful engines and requires minimal downforce setups, Monza has a 5,793-meter track and eleven turns (four to the left), where the highest speeds in the World Championship are reached.
In free practice, in the dry, tires from the most rigid range of compounds are used: C3 (hard, recognizable by the white stripe), C4 (medium, yellow stripe) and C5 (soft, red).
The Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix can be followed on television in Spain through the DAZN platform and also through Movistar channels.
