The Kings League is a new 7-a-side soccer competition created by the Kosmos company, founded by former soccer player Gerard Piqué, and in which Ibai Llanos also participates.
This championship is committed to applying new rules in the football competition and in the assembly of events. Its objective is to add new followers to this sport, including a youth and family audience.
Each of the 12 teams is chaired by a former footballer or a sports influencer. In addition, the matches are broadcast live through the Twitch channel and on different social networks of the organization such as Tik Tok and YouTube.
Popular streamers such as TheGrefg or Perxitaa and former footballers of the stature Iker Casillas or Kun Agüero have also been in charge of setting up and leading teams that include players such as Chicharito Hernández, Raúl Tamudo, Joan Capdevila, Sergio García, Joan Verdú, Ricardo López or José Juan, among others.
In the first final of the King League tournament at the Camp Nou Spotify, it brought together 92,522 fans in the stands, while 2.2 million viewers followed the event on social networks.
The El Barrio team won the first King League title after beating the two Final Four games at the Spotify Camp Nou against the teams Aniquiladores FC, Los Troncos FC and Saiyans FC.
