The suspect was arrested by police in connection to the shooting that left 26 people injured and six others dead in a Highland Park parade on Monday, just before the American national holiday of Independence Day.
According to law enforcement, the suspect, 21-year old Robert “Bobby” E. Crimo III is “from this area.” Police released a photo of the attacker after the attack showing a young man with pale skin, emaciated features and tattoos. The individual was “considered very dangerous and armed” before being arrested. The police say that he “disguised himself” as a woman during the attack to avoid being identified. He had been “preparing for weeks” to carry out his sinister plan. An official stated that he used a “powerful rifle” which appears to have been legally purchased and fired randomly from a rooftop at the victims.

RTBF states that Robert Crimo III’s Twitter and Facebook accounts have been deleted. His Facebook profile photo showed him wearing a helmet equipped with a GoPro-like camera mounting, a face cover and a multicolored jacket.
Others photos posted to social media show him dressed in a Donald Trump flag and participating in a parade organized by the Patriot Front, which is a white supremacist group. Bobby Crimo, a strong supporter of the former US president, was photographed in 2020 at a Donald Trump rally dressed as Charlie from Where’s Charlie’.
It is also known about the family of the suspect. Robert Crimo Jr., his father was unsuccessful in his bid for mayor of the City in 2019. According to “Mail Online,” he lost to a candidate campaigning for gun control. Crimo’s father shared a tweet titled “Protect Second Amendment like Your Life Depends on It” on May 24, the date of the Uvalde school massacre.
He has many pages on the internet where he describes himself as a musician and songwriter, actor, director, and director from Chicago, “Awake The Rapper”. A US media report says that the Internet pages of the suspect are often violent and refer to shootings or weapons.
The Chicago Tribune newspaper reports that a video of a young man being shot at in a classroom and bedroom eight months ago was posted by the Chicago Tribune.
