In June WhatsApp announced a new functionality in its application with the creation of WhatsApp “Channels”.
With this tool, the user can receive news from companies, artists or events safely on their mobile phone, always maintaining their privacy.
To do this, WhatsApp has incorporated a tab with the title “News” in its application panel. By clicking on it, the user finds the statuses and channels they can follow, always separated from their chats with family, friends and communities.
The information sent through the channels that the user follows has a unidirectional format. Only administrators can send texts, photos, videos, stickers, and even surveys.
To select the channels that the user may be interested in, there is a directory with a search function where you can find your favorite teams, your singers or any entity with this information service.
You can also access a particular channel from invitation links sent via chat, through links sent via email, and even those posted online.
It should be noted that WhatsApp has developed this solution with a special interest in protecting the personal information of both those managed and the followers.
So the channel administrator, his phone number and his profile photo are not shown to followers. Likewise, when a follower follows a channel, their phone number will not be revealed to the administrator or other followers.
On the other hand, the information sent will remain in the channel for a maximum of 30 days, although the administrator can resend the messages once that period has passed. In addition, WhatsApp engineers are including new functionalities in channel management.
Follow the steps below to create a WhatsApp channel:
Joining the EL MUNDO channel on WhatsApp is very easy, you can access it now at this link, by clicking on the ‘Follow’ option at the end of the process.
Another way is to open the WhatsApp application and go to the ‘News’ tab. When you press it, the states appear and, a little further down, the channels.
The app itself suggests some and displays a ‘Search for Channels’ box. After finding the El Mundo channel, you just have to choose the ‘follow’ option.
From that moment, you will begin to receive information from EL MUNDO on WhatsApp.
