Celebrities continue to parade around the Pasapalabra set. Their mission is to help the contestants accumulate seconds in their lockers for the final test of El Rosco, whose loot already exceeds one million euros. The presence of well-known faces is one of the ingredients in the formula for the success of the program presented by Roberto Leal, since it is a way for the audience to meet them again in an always fun atmosphere. This time, it is Fele Martínez, Nerea Barros, Laura Galán and JJ Vaquero. Let’s get to know this latest guest a little better.

His name is José Juan Vaquero García, but everyone knows him as JJ Vaquero. In addition to being a comedian, one of the most acidic stand-up comedians on the national scene, he has also made a career as a screenwriter, actor and presenter.

Vaquero was born in Valladolid 49 years ago and the truth is that he never thought about succeeding in the world of comedy. In fact, he made a living in his hometown serving coffee at Carrefour and as a waiter at weddings in a hotel. His luck changed without intending it. Accustomed to making his colleagues laugh, they decided to enroll him, without his knowledge, in a monologue contest in 2002. And nothing was ever the same again.

With a unique style, without mincing words when describing his daily life, from drugs to the daily life of his daughters, he has shone on the professional comedian circuit to become a reference.

Vaquero has filled theaters and venues throughout Spain, taking part in stand-up comedy shows such as En Bruto, alongside Iñaki Urrutia; Monologues and Follies, with Nacho García; Cowboy

However, JJ Vaquero’s fame came through the small screen. On television, he has done monologues for Comedy Central (Paramount Comedy), El Club de la Comedia de LaSexta, Sopa de gansos en Cuatro or El hormiguero. In fact, in Pablo Motos’ program he managed to be a collaborator and scriptwriter for 10 years.

He has also participated in Todo es Gila (Netflix) and has been a collaborator on Mejor tú para (TVE), Cero en Historia (Movistar), Lol If you laugh you lose (Prime Video) or My favorite year, a program by Dani Rovira and Arturo Pérez Fields. As a presenter, his work stands out in El Roast de España and in Últimos signings.

Vaquero demonstrated his writing skills by being a scriptwriter for several editions of the Goya Awards gala, when the presenter was Dani Rovira.

Likewise, the comedian from Valladolid has had time to do radio, collaborating on YU: Don’t miss anything, on 40 Principales, or on Lo Mejor Que Te Podemos Pasar on Melodía FM, among other projects.

In 2020, JJ Vaquero debuted as an actor in the film Ni de Coña, by Fernando Ayllón.
