The expenditure made by foreign tourists who visited Spain in the first seven months decreased by 23.2% compared to the same period of 2020, reaching 10,996 million euros.
However, only in the month of July visited by 4.4 million international tourists, 78.3% more than in the same month of 2020, according to Europe Press.
France was the main country, with 874,189 tourists, representing 19.9% of the total and an increase of 46.6% compared to July 2020. Germany and the United Kingdom are followed.

The total expenditure made by international tourists who visited Spain in July reached 5,231 million euros, which represents an increase of 112.8% with respect to the same month of 2020.
Average spending per tourist stood at 1,190 euros, with an annual increase of 19.3%.
For its part, average daily spending grew by 16%, up to 144 euros.
The average duration of travel from international tourists was 8.3 days, which represents an increase of 0.3 days compared to the average July 2020.
Balearic Islands was the first main destination of tourists in July, with 30.0% of the total.
Catalonia (18.5%) and Comunitat Valencian (13.8%) followed.
Baleares came from 1.3 million visitors, 124.3% more than in July 2020. The main countries of residence of the tourists of this community were Germany (with 385.352) and the United Kingdom (with 294,323).
In the accumulated of the first seven months of 2021 the communities that most tourists received are Balearic (with almost 2.6 million and an increase of 152% compared to the same period of 2020), Catalonia (with almost 1.8 million and a drop
of 34.9%) and Andalusia (with more than 1.2 million, 35.4% less).
In addition, the autonomous communities of main destination with greater weight in the spending of tourists in July were Balearic (with 31.2% of the total), Catalonia (16.7%) and Valencian Community (13.8%).
The expenditure of tourists increased 15.6% in Balearices with respect to July 2020, 104.4% in Catalonia and 89.9% in Comunitat Valenciana.
The rest of the main destination communities of tourists also presented positive annual rates.
In the first seven months of 2021, the autonomous communities of main destination with the highest cumulative expenditure were Balearic (with 27.1% of the total), Catalonia (16.0%) and the Canary Islands (15.1%).
60% of the total spending in July performed tourists who overnight in hotel accommodations, with an increase of 162% over the same month of 2020. For its part, spending on non-market housing increased by 60.3%.
The expenditure of tourists who do not travel with a tour package (representing 80.7% of the total) grew 111.2%.
