The Bank of Spain has initiated an emergency procedure for hiring a collective accident insurance policy for its employees, since the contract currently maintains with AXA will overcome on December 31.
The Supervisor agency opened an ordinary procedure at the beginning of last July to hire accident insurance for its workers, but the tender was declared deserted due to lack of presentation of bids.
For this reason, and because on December 31, the current contract for the provision of the Accident Policy Service subscribed with AXA, S.A.
of insurance and reinsurance, the Bank of Spain has been seen in the need to shorten future processing deadlines to maintain the provision of accident coverage.
According to the records consulted by Europe Press, the Banking Supervisor has opened a new process, this time as an urgent basis, with a basic bidding base budget and an estimated value of the contract of 140,000 euros, as well as a duration of two years
, estimated as a start date on January 1, 2022.
The policy must ensure a total of 274 people, among which are the governor and sub-governor of the Bank of Spain.
Willis Towers Watson will provide advisory services to the Bank of Spain in relation to this insurance.
In addition, the contract document document includes a table with information on the number of sinisters since 2017 to date, which rises that the accident has been null.
