The battle of languages resonates in Aragon.
The recent appointment of 15 academics to articulate the Aragonese Academy of the Language has raised tensions in the autonomous political environment, to the point that the Aragonese Party (Par), preferred partner of Socialists in Aragon, threatens to open a judicial road against
The executive led by Javier Lamban, who will blame to be developing a “Catalan’s tax policy”.
The conflict part of the structure of the Aragonese Academy of Language, whose first 15 academics were appointed on July 29. This institution branches in two sections, the Institute of L’Aragonés and the Institut Aragonès del Català. And it is the latter criticized by the pair, understanding that the Catalan does not appear at any time in the law in which the creation of this organ is covered. It is Law 3/2013, of May 9, of use, protection and promotion of language languages and modalities of Aragon. In it, it is highlighted in Article 5 that “In addition to Spanish, Language used throughout the Autonomous Community, for the purposes of this law, an area of historical use predominant from the Aragonese language of the Pyrenean and Prepiryan areas of The Autonomous Community, with its linguistic modalities “and another area« of predominant historical use of the Aragonese language typical of the eastern area of the Autonomous Community, with its linguistic modalities ».
Then, they wonder from the pair, why create an organ dedicated to Catalan and not a specific one for East Aragonese.
This is however emerged from a statement issued by various party sectors, which argue that they have the support of their training.
The signatories “require the suppression of the Institut Aragonès del Català and the creation of an organism that protects and regulating Chapurriau or East Aragonese and in which its speakers feel represented.”
The legislative text that covers the creation of these institutions, they say, “do not refer at no time to the Catalan language, which does not even appointment”, which is why they apply for the elimination of this institute. The recognition of East Aragonese or
Chapurriau against Catalan is a historic claim.
According to data from the Aragonese Academy of Language, some 25,500 people speak the Aragonés – “The only exclusive language of Aragon,” they say, although it has different modalities – although the figure could increase up to 56,000 if it is included.
They know this language or speak it in a “very castellianized” way.
On the other hand, it is encrypted at 55,500 the Aragonese who speak Catalan.
“The Government of Aragon has not wanted to listen to the citizens of the Eastern Aragon and has preferred to continue with their Catalan tax policy to phagocyt the Aragonese linguistic modalities that are spoken in the Oriental Comarcas,” he regretted in the statement, rubbed by members of the
Couple of the Committee of several regions, as well as from the municipal of Zaragoza.
Therefore, they threaten to take legal action if the Institut Aragonès del Catalá is not eliminated, since “the imposition of any other different language contravenes the highest rank legislation.”
In the same way, they encourage other political formations to join this claim.
The truth is that autonomic policy is suffering movements and rockers in recent weeks, a phenomenon that inevitably reaches the executive led by the socialist Javier Lamban.
A government in which, in addition to the PSOE, the pair, the Aragonesist Chunta and we can.
And the sustenance of the executive itself depends on each of these groups so as not to lose the majority condition.
A fact to take into account, knowing the friction that is being generated with the torque with respect to the institutional structure of the Aragonese Academy of the Language.
The pair is also narrowing ties with citizens in recent weeks.
A surprise alliance in Teruel Between the oranges and a critical sector of the regionalists has broken the ice of a feasible pair approach to the Popular Party and citizens at the autonomic level.
Attached to the regional jump that Dar Teruel exists, the parliamentary board of the Aragon courts could change substantially after the upcoming territorial elections.
