The average price of electricity in the wholesale market (Pool) is situated this Sunday at 146.57 euros the megawatt hour, 8% less than the price of the eve, with which it already already three consecutive days downwards.

It is the lowest price since September 12, in front of the historic record that reached Thursday (188.18 euros).

However, despite this drop, it continues to triple the levels of one year ago, according to the data of the Omie market operator.

By time slots, this price, which crosses the supply of the producers with the demand planned by the electricity network, will now oscillate between 99.99 euros / MWh that will cost between 5:00 pm and 18.00, and 187.92 euros
/ MWh between 22.00 and 23.00.

Behind these high prices, which affect all of Europe, are the increased gas, used by the combined cycles and that marks the price of the pool in most hours;
the increase in the emission rights of carbon dioxide (CO2);
The increase in demand for economic recovery and high temperatures.

Consumers who hire their supply in the free market, which are about 17 million, pay for the kilowatt hour prices that agree by contract with the marketers, so they are not affected by the oscillations of the pool.
