PARSIPPANY — The police department’s Special Enforcement Unit spearheaded an investigation into drug trafficking within Morris County, leading to three arrests and the seizure of prescription pills and marijuana, the department said in a statement.
The SEU launched the investigation late last year, culminating with the execution of a search warrant at a Jefferson home Jan. 20. Jefferson police and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
Police found 373 Xanax pills, 25 Oxycodone pills, three pounds of marijuana and more than $12,000 in cash at the Benedict Drive residence. Police also found items taken during a burglary Jan. 19 in Parsippany within the house and inside a 2016 Chevy Cruze parked nearby.
Two men who live at the home, 22-year-old Denzel Johnson and another man, Jason Betexper Valentini, were both charged with numerous drug offenses including possession and possession with intent to distribute. Johnson was also charged with receiving stolen property and was also wanted on a Morris County warrant for violating probation.
A third person, Casey O’Hern, was arrested Feb. 8 on a charge of possession of stolen property in connection with the burglary.
Valentini and O’Hern were charged and released on their own recognizance. Johnson was released following a Jan. 21 court hearing.
