Schleiz (dpa/th) – Two people were injured in an accident involving two trucks on Autobahn 9 between the Schleiz and Dittersdorf junctions (Saale-Orla district). There was high property damage of around 320,000 euros, according to the police. A 56-year-old truck driver came onto the hard shoulder on the A 9 and drove into the back of a truck standing there. A 66-year-old had reportedly changed the wheel due to a burst tire on the right side of the trailer.

As a result of the collision, the semi-trailer truck spun across the roadway and came to a stop in the right-hand guardrail. Part of the load, beverage bottles, was spread out on the road. The 56-year-old driver was slightly injured, the 66-year-old seriously. According to the police, the Autobahn was completely blocked in the direction of Berlin.
