Erfurt (dpa/th) – Thuringia’s government wants to provide information on Tuesday (1 p.m.) about the consequences of a judgment by the Federal Constitutional Court for the expansion of wind power. Germany’s highest judge recently overturned the ban on wind turbines in the forest laid down in the Thuringian Forest Act. It was laid down primarily at the urging of the CDU. Experts now expect that the construction of wind turbines, which has been sluggish recently, will pick up speed because more locations could be identified. After the cabinet meeting in Erfurt, Infrastructure Minister Susanna Karawanskij (Left Party) and Energy Minister Anja Siegesmund (Green Party) want to comment on this and on the draft of the future state development program.
