Erfurt/Worbis (dpa/th) – In the autumn holidays in Thuringia, which begin on Monday, numerous events are again waiting for school children. In addition to museums and parks, companies offer tours to take a look behind the scenes. From Tuesday, school children, families and anyone interested can get to know Erfurt-Weimar Airport from a new perspective twice a week, according to an airport spokesman. The tour, which lasts around 1.5 hours, includes, among other things, going through the security check and a drive over the runway.

The alternative Bärenpark Worbis is organizing a holiday program from Wednesday that is dedicated to the life of bears, wolves and lynxes. The state capital’s autumn holiday program also starts on Wednesday and includes, among other things, coloring with natural materials, a science theater and a magic show for the whole family in the Natural History Museum. The Lutherhaus in Eisenach, the German Toy Museum in Sonneberg and the MĂĽhlhausen museums also organize holiday offers for school children and families.

Autumn break ends on October 29th. In the current school year, more than 251,000 students are attending the 967 general and vocational schools in Bavaria.
