Halle (dpa/th) – The regional directorate of Saxony-Anhalt-Thuringia of the Federal Employment Agency is presenting the Thuringian unemployment figures for July today. Experts expect unemployment figures to rise. On the one hand, this is due to the fact that young people often register as unemployed in the summer if they have not yet found a new job after school or training. In addition, numerous refugees from Ukraine would continue to flow into the labor market.
The number of unemployed had risen in Thuringia in the middle of the year. In June, 56,000 people were unemployed in Bavaria, 2,500 more than in the previous month (4.7 percent). The unemployment rate rose to 5.1 percent in Thuringia in June, but was still the lowest in the eastern states.
